In short

Ultherapy is usually worth it for mild to moderate laxity, such as an early jowl or heavier brow, in a face with reasonable skin thickness and fat. It is rarely worth it for heavy sagging, volume loss or a lean face. Change builds over two to three months. Singapore clinics published S$1,800–S$4,500 in October 2026. IN Eternity Clinic’s consultation fee is S$120, waived with any medical treatment.

Key facts
  • What it is: micro-focused ultrasound with live imaging that places heat points at set depths, including the SMAS layer.
  • Often worth it for: early jowls, a softening jawline, a heavier outer brow, mild looseness under the chin.
  • Rarely worth it for: heavy sagging, volume loss as the main problem, or a face that is already lean.
  • Timeline: one session; change develops over two to three months and settles over about six.
  • Published prices: S$1,800–S$4,500 at 8 Singapore clinics (read 17 Oct 2026); not IN Eternity’s prices.
  • At IN Eternity: Dr Sin Yong assesses face shape first and sets the areas, depths and lines.
The short answer

Is Ultherapy worth it?

Ultherapy is usually worth it for mild to moderate laxity in a face that still has reasonable skin thickness and enough soft tissue: an early jowl, a softening jawline, a heavier outer brow or early looseness under the chin. It is usually not worth it for heavy sagging or a lot of loose skin, for a face whose main problem is lost volume, or for a face that is already lean, where deep heat can make it look thinner.

It works by focusing ultrasound into small heat points at set depths, including the SMAS support layer, while an on-screen image shows the tissue layers. The heated points contract and then remodel collagen over the following months. That is why the change is gradual and modest, and why the decision rests on your anatomy more than on the brand. How IN Eternity Clinic plans the treatment is on Ultherapy Singapore.

Results and timelines

What results are realistic, and when do they show?

Laboratory work established that focused ultrasound can create small, precise heat points beneath an intact skin surface. In a rater-blinded study of the face and neck, brow lift was measurable at 90 days in many participants. A lower-face study judged by blinded assessors also found improvement at 90 days, and other case series followed results to six months. A meta-analysis of focused ultrasound for the face and neck found improvement most often in the lower face, neck and around the eyes. Response varied between people in each study. What changes and when is set out in the Ultherapy results timeline.

Typical patterns; your plan is set at assessment.
WhenWhat usually happensWhat it means for value
Day 0 to 2Redness and mild swelling for hours; tenderness along the jawMost people resume normal activities quickly
Weeks 1 to 4Occasional tenderness, rare bruising or temporary numbnessEarly firmness is not the final result
Months 2 to 3Collagen remodelling shows as gradual tighteningThe usual review point
Months 3 to 6The change continues to settleJudge with photos in the same light
After about a yearAgeing continues; some choose to repeatRepeat at review, not prepaid
Trade-offs

The trade-offs that decide whether it is worth it

Comfort. Heat over bone, the jawline and the brow can be uncomfortable. Numbing and adjusted energy help; discuss comfort before the day.

Face shape. Heat-based lifting can make a lean face look thinner; this is a recognised side effect, not a rare surprise. That is why face shape is assessed first, and why a different approach is sometimes the more useful advice.

Size of change. Ultherapy is fairly judged as a gradual change many people describe as fresher, not as a different face. If you would only be satisfied by a large change, it is unlikely to feel worth it.

“Ultherapy is worth it when there is laxity to tighten and enough face to keep. In a lean face, the question is not how many lines, but whether to use heat at all.”

Cost

How much does Ultherapy cost in Singapore? Published ranges

About these figures. They are list prices that other Singapore clinics publish on their own websites, read on 17 October 2026. They may have changed since, some exclude 9% GST, first-trial offers are left out, and no clinic is being rated. They are not IN Eternity Clinic’s prices. IN Eternity Clinic quotes after assessment; the consultation fee is S$120, waived with any medical treatment.

On 17 October 2026, 8 Singapore clinics published S$1,800–S$4,500 for Ultherapy or Ultherapy PRIME. The spread follows scope: a lower face with the under-chin is a different treatment from a full face and neck, and the number of lines changes the cost. For comparison only, other HIFU devices were listed at S$590–S$2,000 (7 clinics) and Thermage FLX for the face at S$2,000–S$3,200 (3 clinics); they are different treatments.

Ultherapy is usually one session followed by review, so the main cost is the first session. If you chose to repeat after about a year, at these published prices that would be S$1,800–S$4,500 a year. A lower price for another HIFU device is not the same treatment: imaging, line count and depth differ. What sets the cost is explained in Ultherapy cost in Singapore, and the wider market list is in the Singapore aesthetic treatment price guide.

Compared

Ultherapy, HIFU or Thermage: which is worth it for your face?

Ultherapy and other HIFU devices both focus ultrasound at set depths; Ultherapy adds live imaging. Thermage FLX heats the deep dermis more broadly with radiofrequency, so it suits crepey texture and mild laxity. A randomised split-face trial compared the two energy types on the same faces; which is worth it depends on where the laxity sits. See Ultherapy vs Thermage vs HIFU.

At IN Eternity

How IN Eternity Clinic decides if Ultherapy is worth it for you

Dr Sin Yong, Medical Director, examines your face at rest and in movement, assesses skin thickness, fat and bone support, and decides first whether focused ultrasound is the right tool. For leaner faces he often discusses VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, his protocol on the CLASSYS Volnewmer; for fuller lower faces, Time Freeze Laser LCLR®. If Ultherapy suits, the areas, depths and lines are written into a plan before anything is booked. The consultation fee is S$120, waived with any medical treatment; see fees.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

At what age is Ultherapy worth it?

There is no set age. It suits early to moderate laxity, which most often appears from the mid-thirties onwards. In younger faces without laxity it adds little, and skin thickness and facial fat matter more than age.

How long does Ultherapy last?

The change develops over two to three months and settles over about six. Ageing continues, so many people review the result after about a year and decide then whether to repeat. How long it holds varies between people.

Is Ultherapy worth the discomfort?

For a suitable face, many people find it tolerable with numbing and adjusted energy. Discomfort is greatest over bone and the jawline. If comfort is a major concern, it is worth discussing alternatives with a lower heat sensation.

How much does Ultherapy cost in Singapore?

On 17 October 2026, 8 Singapore clinics published S$1,800–S$4,500 for Ultherapy or Ultherapy PRIME, depending on area and lines. These are other clinics’ prices; IN Eternity Clinic quotes after assessment, and its consultation fee is S$120, waived with any medical treatment.

Can Ultherapy make my face look thinner?

In a face that is already lean, deep heat can make some areas look slightly hollower. That is why fat and bone support are assessed first, and why a different approach may be suggested for a lean face.

Is Ultherapy worth it for jowls?

For an early jowl, it can be. Heavy jowls usually involve fat, volume shift and skin excess, which Ultherapy alone treats poorly, so a combined plan or a surgical opinion may be the better use of money.
