Radiesse Singapore

One product, two different jobs.

Calcium hydroxylapatite can give firm structure where it is placed undiluted, or support skin quality when it is diluted. At IN Eternity Clinic the job is decided before the syringe is chosen.

Key facts
  • What it is: calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a gel carrier; the gel gives immediate support and the microspheres prompt collagen.
  • Undiluted: used for structure — for example nose projection, chin and jawline definition.
  • Diluted or hyperdiluted: spread more thinly to support skin firmness and quality rather than shape.
  • Not reversible with hyaluronidase: placement and quantity are planned carefully and conservatively.
  • In practice: for non-surgical nose shaping Dr Sin Yong usually prefers a structural product such as CaHA over hyaluronic acid alone.

How it works

Immediate support, then collagen

Radiesse combines a carrier gel with small calcium-based spheres. The gel gives shape on the day; as it is absorbed, the spheres act as a scaffold around which the body lays down collagen. The product is gradually broken down over time.

Because it is firmer than most hyaluronic acid fillers, it holds a line well in areas that need definition. The same property is why it is not used in thin, mobile areas such as the lips or directly under the eyes.

Two procedures

Undiluted or diluted

Structural use. Undiluted CaHA is placed deep, close to bone, to project the nose bridge or tip, define the chin or sharpen the jawline. The amount is small and the plan is built around the face’s proportions.

Skin-quality use. Diluted or hyperdiluted CaHA is spread in a fan pattern under the skin of the face, neck or arms to support firmness. This is a different procedure with different expectations; it does not change shape.

“The same syringe can sharpen a jawline or firm the skin of the neck. Which job it does depends on the dilution, so that is decided first.”

Safety

Risks to know

Bruising, swelling and tenderness are common. Nodules can form, particularly if the product is placed too superficially. As with any filler, there is a small risk of the product entering a blood vessel, which is why anatomy, technique and the doctor’s experience matter, and why Radiesse is not used in the lips or tear troughs.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can Radiesse be dissolved?

Not with hyaluronidase, which only breaks down hyaluronic acid. That is why amounts are conservative and placement is planned with care.

Is Radiesse used for the nose?

It can be. For non-surgical nose shaping Dr Sin Yong usually prefers a structural product such as calcium hydroxylapatite or polycaprolactone rather than hyaluronic acid alone. Suitability depends on the nose and previous procedures.

What is hyperdiluted Radiesse?

Radiesse mixed with more liquid and spread thinly under the skin to support firmness and quality. It does not add shape.

Where is Radiesse not used?

The lips, directly under the eyes and other thin, mobile areas, where a firmer product is more likely to be felt or seen.

How long does Radiesse last?

It varies between people and areas. It is gradually broken down by the body while the collagen it prompted remains for a time.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes, often with energy-based lifting or skin treatments, sequenced by Dr Sin Yong.
