Sculptra Singapore

Collagen built slowly, by your own skin.

Poly-L-lactic acid prompts the body to lay down its own collagen over months. At IN Eternity Clinic it is used sparingly, for gradual support where volume has been lost.

Key facts
  • What it is: poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles suspended in water, injected to stimulate the skin’s own collagen.
  • Not a filler: the early fullness is mostly water and fades within days; the lasting change develops over the following weeks and months.
  • Who it can suit: gradual volume loss in the temples, cheeks or lower face where a subtle, slow change is wanted.
  • Who it does not suit: people wanting an immediate result, those with active skin infection or inflammation, and areas already heavy with old product.
  • Cannot be dissolved: hyaluronidase does not break down PLLA, so dose and placement are kept conservative.

How it works

A scaffold, not a gel

Sculptra particles sit in the deeper tissue and trigger a gradual foreign-body response in which fibroblasts lay down new collagen around them. The particles are then broken down by the body over time. What remains is your own collagen.

That is why the first week can be misleading. The swelling and the water carrying the particles give a brief fullness, which fades. The real change is slow and builds across a course, so it is judged at review rather than in the mirror the next morning.

Planning

How it is used at IN Eternity Clinic

Dr Sin Yong first decides whether the face needs volume at all, and if so where. Hollowing at the temples or a flattening of the mid-face may suit a collagen stimulator; a heavy lower face usually does not. Where earlier filler is present, it is mapped with ultrasound before anything is added.

Sculptra is placed in small amounts per session, spaced weeks apart, with massage and aftercare instructions to help the particles spread evenly. Each session is reassessed before the next is booked.

“Sculptra is a slow conversation with your own collagen. If you need the answer next week, it is the wrong product.”
— Dr Sin Yong, Medical Director, IN Eternity Clinic
Limits

What to expect, honestly

Change is gradual and varies with age, skin quality and lifestyle. Bruising, swelling and tenderness are common for a few days. Small nodules can occur, which is one reason dosing is conservative and placement is deep. Because the product cannot be dissolved, it is not used to chase a quick or dramatic effect.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Sculptra a filler?

No. It is a collagen stimulator. The fullness seen on day one is temporary; the lasting change comes from the collagen your skin builds over the following months.

Can Sculptra be dissolved?

No. Hyaluronidase only dissolves hyaluronic acid filler. That is why Sculptra is dosed conservatively and placed after careful assessment.

How many sessions are usually needed?

It depends on the area and how much volume has been lost. Sessions are spaced weeks apart and the plan is reviewed after each one.

Who should not have Sculptra?

People with active skin infection or inflammation in the area, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone wanting an immediate result. Your medical history is reviewed first.

Can Sculptra be combined with energy treatments?

Often, yes, but timing matters. Dr Sin Yong sequences lifting or resurfacing treatments around injectable sessions.

What does the first week look like?

Swelling, possible bruising and an early fullness that fades. Aftercare instructions, including massage, are explained at the session.
