The Centre of Excellence Certification
DEKA is a medical laser manufacturer based in Florence, Italy, with roots in laser physics stretching back more than four decades — a lineage that includes early work on carbon dioxide laser technology for surgical and dermatological use. Its platforms are used across dermatology, plastic surgery, gynaecology and ENT, as well as aesthetic medicine.
The DEKA Centre of Excellence programme certifies a small number of clinics internationally. The designation is granted on the basis of clinical standards, protocol development and innovation in patient care rather than on purchase volume, and it is reviewed rather than granted permanently on first issue. IN Eternity Clinic received the certification on 24 July 2026, presented jointly by DEKA and NeoAsia, DEKA's Asia-Pacific distributor. It recognises the clinic's work with DEKA laser technology and energy-based body contouring — a reference centre whose protocols DEKA's own engineers travelled from Italy to study, rather than the other way around.
Dr Sin Yong — International Key Opinion Leader for DEKA
Medical Director Dr Sin Yong's work centres on lasers, non-surgical facelifts and body contouring, holding International Key Opinion Leader appointments with six device manufacturers: DEKA, CLASSYS, HIRONIC, ALMA, FOTONA and LUTRONIC. At IN Eternity Clinic he assesses and plans each patient's treatment, building each plan around the patient's specific concern. A Key Opinion Leader appointment is a working relationship rather than a sponsorship: the manufacturer's clinical and engineering teams consult the physician on how a platform behaves in real clinical conditions — on real skin types, at settings well outside the factory presets — and in return the physician is invited to share clinical expertise on its use with other doctors, usually at the chairside.
That is why a DEKA delegation from Italy travelled to spend a working day at the clinic. On DEKA platforms specifically, Dr Sin Yong — known for his work in scar aesthetics — has developed S3 multi-depth resurfacing, which he has presented at physician workshops, and the 4D Scar Reconstruction protocol. He is invited to share his clinical expertise with doctors across the Asia-Pacific region and has presented at symposia in Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Dubai and Singapore.
October 2026: DEKA Academy in Florence
In October 2026, our Medical Director, Dr Sin Yong, spent three days at DEKA Academy, DEKA’s hands-on clinical programme for doctors who use its platforms. Days one and two were held at Villa Donatello in Florence, and day three at the El.En. and DEKA headquarters and factory in Calenzano. He attended as a Global Key Opinion Leader for DEKA and as a participant, and received a certificate of attendance from DEKA’s Laser Training Department.

The Tetra Pro CO2 platform underpins the clinic's scar and resurfacing work. TORO — Pigment, Brightening & Skin Quality
The TORO platform combines Q-switched and picosecond emissions used for pigment, brightening and overall skin texture, including delicate work in the periorbital region. Settings are matched to skin type rather than run from presets.
RedTouch Pro & Onda Pro
RedTouch Pro is a long-pulsed platform used for skin firming and tone, while Onda Pro applies microwave-band energy for localised fat and skin laxity — extending the clinic's DEKA-based work beyond the skin surface into body contouring.

Why the Settings Matter More Than the Machine
A Centre of Excellence designation is not about owning particular equipment. The same platform in two clinics can produce very different results, because the outcome depends on how the settings are chosen for each patient's skin type, concern and depth of treatment. What the certification recognises is the clinical judgement behind those choices — the protocol development, the clinical sharing, and the willingness to work beyond the factory presets that a Key Opinion Leader relationship makes possible. It is that body of work that led to IN Eternity Clinic being designated for DEKA laser treatment and energy-based body contouring, and to its protocols being shared with physicians internationally.

Tetra PRO CO2: scars, resurfacing and small growths
The Tetra PRO is a fractional CO2 laser. It vaporises columns of tissue surrounded by untouched skin, and the heat around each column triggers collagen remodelling as the skin heals. Its S3 (SCAR3) setting stacks energy at different depths, so a deep, narrow ice-pick scar can be treated differently from a broad, shallow rolling one in the same session. This is the basis of S3 Resurfacing and part of the 4D Scar Reconstruction protocol, alongside subcision and other steps described on our acne scar page.
The same laser, at very different settings, is used pinpoint on syringomas under the eyes. CO2 resurfacing means a recovery period with redness and scabbing, and it carries a risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation in darker skin, so energy and density are set by skin type. TORO and RedTouch Pro: pigment, tone, redness and pores
TORO combines a picosecond 785 nm wavelength with nanosecond Q-switched 1064 nm and 532 nm. Picosecond pulses break pigment with a mainly photoacoustic effect and less heat; the 1064 nm wavelength is used at low energy for laser toning and as a supportive step in melasma plans; 532 nm reaches superficial brown spots and some ink colours. It is used for pigmentation, T2 Frax Radiance and tattoo removal. The pigmentation hub explains which pigment responds to what.
RedTouch Pro works differently: its 675 nm wavelength is absorbed mainly by collagen rather than water or pigment, and is delivered in a fractional pattern with contact cooling. At IN Eternity Clinic it runs the 少女光 protocol for redness, enlarged pores and fine texture.
Onda Pro, and when a non-DEKA platform is the right tool
Onda Pro uses microwave energy at 2.45 GHz, which fat absorbs more readily than skin, to heat the superficial fat layer while the skin surface is cooled. It is used for small areas of stubborn fat, under the chin and on the body; see Onda Pro and the comparison Onda vs fat freezing vs 4K Body Lift.
Being a DEKA Centre of Excellence does not mean every patient is treated on a DEKA platform. Laser hair removal runs on the Lutronic Clarity II, R2 Glow on the Fotona StarWalker, and lifting and RF microneedling on CLASSYS platforms. Dr Sin Yong chooses the tool for the tissue in front of him.
