Our Medical Director, Dr Sin Yong, attended DEKA Academy in Florence and Calenzano. Here is what it means for pico, 675 nm and CO2 laser treatment at our Orchard Road clinic.
WhatsApp to Enquire →Key facts ↓In October 2026, our Medical Director, Dr Sin Yong, spent three days at DEKA Academy in Florence and Calenzano, attending as a Global Key Opinion Leader for DEKA and as a participant. The programme covered the TORO pico laser, the 675 nm RedTouch Pro, SmartXide Tetra PRO CO2 and Onda Pro. For patients at our Orchard Road clinic, it feeds into how laser settings are chosen for Asian skin.
DEKA is a medical laser maker based in Florence and part of the El.En. group, which was founded in Calenzano in 1981. DEKA Academy is its hands-on clinical programme for doctors who use DEKA platforms: clinical sessions on each system, live demonstrations, and time with the clinicians, engineers and researchers behind the devices.
IN Eternity Clinic is a designated DEKA Centre of Excellence, and our Medical Director, Dr Sin Yong, is a Global Key Opinion Leader for DEKA. He attended the October 2026 Academy in that role and as a participant alongside other physicians, and received a certificate of attendance from DEKA’s Laser Training Department.

None of this changes what any treatment can achieve. What it does is keep the details of how we use these platforms close to the people who build and study them.

TORO combines a 785 nm picosecond wavelength with Q-switched 1064 nm and 532 nm and a long-pulsed 1064 nm thermal mode. It runs in four modes: Pico, Nano, Double and Thermal. DEKA positions the 785 nm wavelength for skin types III to V, the range that covers much of the skin we see in Singapore.
That matters because darker and Asian skin reacts to too much heat with new darkening, known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In Florence, Dr Sin Yong compared notes with DEKA faculty on how each mode is set for these skin types. At IN Eternity, TORO underpins our T2 Frax Radiance protocol and our wider pico laser work, and settings are chosen for your skin at assessment, not taken from a preset.
“The settings matter more than the machine.”
RedTouch Pro is a fractional, non-ablative 675 nm laser. At IN Eternity it is the laser behind 少女光 Laser, which we use for redness, enlarged pores and skin quality. On day two, Dr Sin Yong discussed with Prof Paolo Bonan how lasers can be combined, including the 675 nm laser with TORO.
Combining two lasers is not about doing more in one sitting. It is about order, spacing and settings, so that each laser does its own job without adding to the heat of the other. Whether a combination suits your skin, and in which order, is decided at consultation.

SmartXide Tetra PRO is DEKA’s fractional CO2 laser. At IN Eternity we use it for S3 Resurfacing of acne scars and within 4D Scar Reconstruction for mixed scarring.
On day three in Calenzano, Dr Sin Yong met DEKA’s clinical research team: Tiziano Zingoni, its director and a biomedical engineer; Irene Fusco, a biologist; and Francesca Madeddu, a biomedical engineer, who attended for Laura Pieri. Dr Sin Yong is first author of a clinical paper in preparation on the S3 Resurfacing protocol on Tetra PRO for acne scarring, with Irene Fusco and Laura Pieri as co-authors. It has not been published yet.
Writing a protocol up for a journal means setting out exactly how it is done and what was seen. It does not change how scars behave: treatment is a course, results vary from person to person, and scar tissue is improved rather than erased.

IN Eternity Clinic is a designated DEKA Centre of Excellence. Lasers are updated, guidance on settings changes, and the people who design a platform see results from many clinics in many countries. Keeping in touch with DEKA’s faculty and clinical research team lets us check our settings against that wider experience, and lets DEKA hear how its platforms behave on Asian skin in Singapore.
It is a working relationship, not an endorsement of any result. Your treatment is still planned at an in-person assessment with Dr Sin Yong, who will explain which option he recommends and why, including when a different approach would suit you better.
Not in what we offer, and not in what a treatment can achieve. Your plan is still decided at assessment. What the programme informs is detail: how TORO modes are set for skin types III to V, and how the 675 nm laser and pico are ordered and spaced when combined.

TORO for pico laser and our T2 Frax Radiance protocol; RedTouch Pro at 675 nm for 少女光 Laser; and SmartXide Tetra PRO fractional CO2 for S3 Resurfacing and 4D Scar Reconstruction. We also use Onda Pro, a DEKA microwave platform for body and face.
