Pillow face correction at IN Eternity Clinic — for those left over-filled or with a sunken face elsewhere. Dr Sin Yong dissolves and rebalances dermal filler to restore natural, youthful proportion, as Medical Director.
The over-filled, "pillowy" look appears when filler has been overdone: too much product overall, product sitting in the wrong layer, or product placed where the face does not carry volume naturally. Typical signs at IN Eternity Clinic consultations are cheeks that sit too far forward, fullness bulging at the sides of the face, a softened outline where bone structure used to show, and a generally swollen appearance. It can follow one heavy session, or build up gradually when new filler is added before earlier product has broken down.
Correction starts by breaking down the surplus or misplaced hyaluronic acid (HA) filler with the enzyme hyaluronidase. Medical Director Dr Sin Yong examines where the filler sits and maps it before anything is injected. Dissolving is then done selectively: the zones driving the unnatural look are treated, while areas where the volume still suits the face are left alone. Once the tissue has settled, your natural proportions are reviewed again, and refinement filler is only considered if you want it.
Reduce excess cheek filler that has left the mid-face looking too round, too projected or artificially "apple"-shaped.
Correct product sitting at the outer cheek, whether placed there or drifted sideways, that widens or distorts the oval of the face.
Clear tear-trough filler that is too much or too superficial and is causing puffiness, a bluish tinge, or making the hollow look worse.
Where surplus product has blurred the cheekbones, jawline or temples, removing it lets the underlying bone structure show again.
Reduce the total load when many treatments, sometimes at several clinics, have added up to more volume than the face can carry naturally.
Treat product that has moved away from where it was injected and now causes a bulge or an uneven look.
Dr Sin Yong performs a comprehensive assessment of filler distribution, quantity and impact on facial aesthetics. Pre-treatment photography establishes baseline.
A map is drawn up marking which zones to dissolve and which to keep. The hyaluronidase is diluted to suit, then placed accurately at each marked point.
The enzyme is injected at the planned points and works over roughly 24–72 hours. Where there is a lot of filler, more than one session may be required.
Two to four weeks later, Dr Sin Yong reviews your face as it now is. If you would like some refinement, any new filler is planned around your own natural proportions rather than the old result.
“Dissolving is not the end of the plan. It is how we find out what your face actually looks like again.”
Dissolving is done with hyaluronidase, a prescription enzyme, injected through a fine needle at the points marked on your filler map. Numbing cream is usually applied for 20 to 30 minutes first, and ice or a cold pack is used between areas. Unlike many fillers, hyaluronidase does not come premixed with a local anaesthetic, so most people feel a brief sting as each point is placed, followed by a warm, slightly tight feeling as the enzyme starts to work.
The injections themselves take only a few minutes per area. Afterwards the treated zones can feel tender, puffy or itchy for a day or two. Because hyaluronidase is a protein-based enzyme, Dr Sin Yong asks about allergies first and may place a small test dose before treating the face. Marked swelling, spreading redness or any difficulty breathing after treatment should be reported to the clinic straight away.
For a day or two there may be swelling and small injection marks. After that, most people simply notice that you look more like yourself, not that something was done. Friends who knew the over-filled look may comment that you look rested. Plan dissolving at least two weeks before an important event so the tissue has time to settle.
Most people return to work the same day or the next. Expect some puffiness and pinpoint marks, which make-up can cover after a few hours if the skin is unbroken. Strenuous exercise, saunas and facial massage are better postponed for a day or so, as advised at your visit, so swelling settles sooner.
Pillow face treatment corrects the swollen, over-filled look that can develop from excessive dermal filler placed over time. At IN Eternity Clinic it involves carefully dissolving and rebalancing the filler under assessment, restoring natural facial contours and proportion. It is planned and performed by Medical Director Dr Sin Yong.
No. Hyaluronidase only breaks down hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. Non-HA products such as calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and polycaprolactone (Ellansé) do not respond to it. At consultation Dr Sin Yong works out what your filler is most likely to be before planning any dissolving.
Mild overfilling may resolve with a single session. Heavy filler loads accumulated over many sessions typically require 2–3 rounds of hyaluronidase, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to fully dissolve.
You will look like yourself again, though after years of filler that face can feel unfamiliar at first. Some people notice a short spell where areas look slightly hollow before the tissue rehydrates. Dr Sin Yong talks this through with you at IN Eternity Clinic before treatment, so it is expected.
Dr Sin Yong recommends waiting a minimum of 4–6 weeks after full dissolution before placing any new filler. This allows proper reassessment of natural proportions and ensures hyaluronidase is fully metabolised.
Largely, yes. Overfilling is avoided by an injector who knows the anatomy, holds back, and adds less rather than more. At IN Eternity Clinic, Dr Sin Yong plans volume conservatively and aims for a result that still looks like you.
Pricing depends on how many syringes or how much product your result needs and the areas being treated, which differ from face to face. Because the plan is tailored, a figure follows assessment rather than a fixed menu price; the full plan and cost are explained at consultation at IN Eternity Clinic before anything proceeds.
Most patients tolerate the treatment well. A fine needle or cannula is used, the products often contain a local anaesthetic, and numbing cream can be applied beforehand, so discomfort is usually brief and mild. What to expect is explained before treatment.
Results from pillow face correction are not permanent and are commonly maintained with periodic top-ups. How long they hold varies with the product used, the area and individual metabolism, and is discussed as part of your plan.
After pillow face, many people find that what their face was really asking for was lift, not more filler. Dr Sin Yong has developed two lifting protocols at IN Eternity Clinic that support the face structurally, so that filler becomes less of a crutch over time.
At IN Eternity Clinic, pillow face correction means dissolving surplus HA filler in a measured way so that over-full areas settle and your own proportions return.
