What Is Onda?

Onda comes from DEKA, the Florence-based maker of medical lasers, yet it is neither a laser nor a radiofrequency device. Its energy source is microwaves, emitted at 2.45 GHz through a patented DEKA delivery system known as Coolwaves.

Onda Pro is the latest version of the system. What it adds is the slimmer Precision-GigaWave handpiece, and that handpiece is the reason the same microwave technology can now be used on facial areas, not only on the body.

Cellulite deserves its own explanation, as it is often misread. The dimples come not from fat as such but from fibrous bands (septa) that run between fat lobules and pull the skin downward.
