Low-fluence laser toning breaks up pigment a little at a time with minimal heat. At IN Eternity Clinic it is one tool among several, chosen after the cause of uneven tone is known.
WhatsApp to Enquire →Key facts ↓Sun spots, post-inflammatory marks after acne, melasma, freckles and a dull surface can all look like “uneven tone”. Each responds differently, and some, such as melasma, can worsen with the wrong energy. Dr Sin Yong identifies which are present before choosing the laser and settings.
Where pigment is the main issue, laser toning may be combined with targeted pico treatment, topical care and strict sun protection. Where dullness is mostly texture or dehydration, other treatments may suit better.

At low fluence, the 1064 nm wavelength passes through the surface and gently fragments melanin in the skin without the strong heating that can trigger rebound pigment. Because each session does little, the effect builds across a course spaced one to a few weeks apart.
Most people return to work the same day with mild redness that settles within hours. Sun protection between sessions is part of the treatment, not an optional extra.
“Laser toning is a little energy, many times. Turning it up to go faster is exactly how uneven tone gets worse.”
Over-treatment can cause blotchy light spots (hypopigmentation) or rebound darkening, which is why settings stay conservative and sessions are not rushed. Results vary between people, and pigment can return with sun exposure or hormonal triggers.

Laser toning is one of the gentler laser treatments. At low fluence, the 1064 nm beam of the DEKA TORO is passed over the whole face in repeated sweeps, and most people describe light, rapid snapping or a warm prickling, sometimes like fine sand tapping on the skin. You may hear a clicking sound with each pulse. Areas over bone, such as the forehead and jawline, and the upper lip can feel a little sharper.
Numbing cream is not usually needed, though it can be applied if your skin is sensitive. Protective eyewear is worn throughout, and the session itself is short. Afterwards the skin may look pink and feel slightly warm, as if you had been in the sun briefly; this usually settles within a few hours. Occasionally there is slight swelling or a few tiny pinpoint spots, which fade within a day or two. A gentle moisturiser and sunscreen are all most people need.
Cost depends on the cause of your uneven tone, the area treated, how many sessions the course needs, and whether it is combined with targeted pico treatment or topical care. Melasma care usually involves a longer series with maintenance. Dr Sin Yong identifies the pigment type first and explains the plan and its cost before treatment.
Usually yes, later the same day or the next morning, once any redness has settled. Use clean brushes and a gentle remover in the evening, and avoid exfoliating products for a few days. Sunscreen should go on underneath make-up every day during the course.
Generally not. Any redness settles within a few hours, so most people go back to work the same day. Because each session does a little, tone evens out gradually across the course, and people tend to remark that your skin looks brighter or clearer rather than noticing a treatment.
No. It aims for a more even tone by reducing excess pigment, not to lighten your natural skin colour.
A course is typical because each session is gentle. The number depends on the cause of pigment and is set after assessment.
Usually mild redness for a few hours. Sun protection is essential between sessions.
It can be part of melasma care when used conservatively alongside medical treatment, but melasma is managed rather than cured. See the melasma page.

People with active skin infection, a recent tan, certain photosensitising medicines, or pregnancy, depending on the plan. Your history is reviewed first.
