Ellansé Singapore

Volume today, collagen later.

Polycaprolactone microspheres give support straight away and prompt new collagen as the carrier gel is absorbed. At IN Eternity Clinic it is planned for where structure is needed, not as a general filler.

Key facts
  • What it is: polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres in a carboxymethylcellulose gel.
  • Two phases: the gel gives immediate volume; as it is absorbed over weeks, collagen formed around the microspheres takes over.
  • Where it is used: structural areas such as the nose, chin, temples and mid-face; not the lips or tear troughs.
  • Cannot be dissolved: hyaluronidase does not act on polycaprolactone, so dosing is conservative.
  • Day-one look: can be fuller than the final result as the gel settles; the plan is judged at review.

How it works

Why the day-one result misleads

Ellansé is made of tiny, smooth polycaprolactone spheres carried in a gel. The gel provides the initial shape. Over the following weeks it is absorbed, and the body forms collagen around the spheres, which are themselves broken down slowly over time.

Because the support shifts from gel to collagen, what you see in the first days is not the end point. Dr Sin Yong plans the dose around the expected collagen response, which is why less is placed than a first-time patient might expect.

In practice

How it is placed at IN Eternity Clinic

For the nose, chin and jawline, Dr Sin Yong usually prefers a structural product such as polycaprolactone or calcium hydroxylapatite over hyaluronic acid alone. Placement is deep and in small amounts, and any previous filler is mapped with ultrasound first so new product is not layered on old.

Ellansé is not used to fix heaviness caused by earlier filler. In that situation the existing product is assessed and, where possible, corrected first.

“With Ellansé, the gel is the opening act. The collagen that follows is the result, so the plan is built for that, not for day one.”
— Dr Sin Yong, Medical Director, IN Eternity Clinic
Safety

Risks and who should not have it

Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common in the first days. Nodules can occur, especially with superficial placement. As with any injectable, vascular complications are rare but serious, which is why anatomy and technique matter. It is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active skin infection, or in people with a history of severe reactions to its components.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can Ellansé be dissolved?

No. Hyaluronidase only dissolves hyaluronic acid filler. That is why Ellansé is placed conservatively after assessment.

How is Ellansé different from hyaluronic acid filler?

HA filler holds water to create volume and can be dissolved. Ellansé gives initial support from its gel and then prompts collagen; it cannot be dissolved.

Is Ellansé used for the nose?

It can be. For nose shaping Dr Sin Yong usually prefers a structural product such as polycaprolactone or calcium hydroxylapatite. Suitability depends on the nose and any previous procedures.

How long does Ellansé last?

It varies between people and between the different Ellansé versions. Longevity is discussed for your case at consultation.

What happens if I already have filler there?

It is mapped with ultrasound first. Layering new product on old is a common cause of heaviness, so correction may come before anything is added.

Who should not have Ellansé?

People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with active infection or inflammation in the area, and anyone with a known allergy to its components.
