Non-Surgical Neck Lift in Singapore

Turkey neck, platysma bands and the double chin

The neck ages in four ways at once. A plan that names which ones apply to you is the difference between a result and a disappointment.

In short · Doctor’s answer

A non-surgical neck lift treats the four things that make a neck look older: loose skin (the "turkey neck"), submental fat (the double chin), platysma bands (the vertical cords) and crepey skin texture. At IN Eternity Clinic the lifting and lipo-modelling passes of Time Freeze Laser LCLR® treat the skin and the fat in one session; a muscle relaxant softens the bands; skin boosters address texture; HIFU is an alternative for deep laxity. Advanced laxity with heavy bands and a lot of excess skin is a surgical neck lift case, and Dr Sin Yong says so at assessment.

What the research says
  • Neck ageing involves skin laxity, submental fat, platysma banding and skeletal support; treatment selection follows the dominant component (facial anatomy literature; Rohrich & Pessa 2007).
  • Laser energy in subcutaneous fat disrupts adipocytes and tightens overlying skin (Badin 2002); micro-focused ultrasound lifts the neck and submental region (Fabi 2015).

ProblemWhat you seeFirst-line at IN Eternity
Loose skinVertical folds, a "turkey" fold under the chinLCLR lifting pass (neck and submental); HIFU for deep laxity
Submental fatFullness under the chin that pinches thickLCLR lipo-modelling pass; micro-liposuction for large volumes

Crepey textureFine horizontal lines, thin shiny skinSkin boosters; the thulium pass of LCLR
The session

How the neck is treated in one session

  • Assess: pinch test for fat, skin recoil for laxity, grimace test for bands, texture under light.
  • Map: fat zones under the chin and along the jaw are mapped so the lipo pass is pointed at fat only.
  • Treat: lipo-modelling pass on the mapped fat; lifting pass across the submental area, the neck and the jawline so the lift is continuous with the face; thulium pass for texture where needed.
  • Bands: muscle relaxant to the platysma bands at the same visit or shortly after.
  • Review: at four to eight weeks as collagen builds; a spaced course.

Redness settles in one to two hours; the fat zones can feel tender for a day or two. Most people return to work the same day.

Compared

Non-surgical neck lift vs surgical neck lift

A factual comparison; suitability is decided at assessment
Non-surgical (LCLR / HIFU + relaxant)Surgical neck lift (platysmaplasty ± liposuction)
Excess skin removedNo; tightenedYes
BandsSoftened with relaxant, repeatedSutured (platysmaplasty)
FatReduced in small zonesRemoved by liposuction
DowntimeHours to 2 days1–3 weeks; garment; scars behind the ears
ResultGradual over 3 months; maintained periodicallyImmediate once healed; longer-lasting
SuitsMild to moderate laxityAdvanced laxity, heavy bands, much excess skin
Cost

What affects the cost

The number of problems being treated, the zones, the sessions in the course and whether a muscle relaxant or skin booster is added. The plan and its cost are set out at the consultation; the consultation fee is S$120 and is waived when a treatment is started.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a turkey neck be fixed without surgery?

Mild to moderate loose neck skin, yes: laser lifting of the neck and submental area, with HIFU as an alternative for deeper laxity. A heavy turkey neck with a lot of excess skin is a surgical case.

What causes the vertical cords in my neck?

Platysma bands: the edges of the thin neck muscle become visible as the skin thins and the muscle tightens with age. They are softened with a muscle relaxant, repeated every few months.

Does HIFU work on the neck?

Yes, for laxity; it reaches the SMAS and platysma layer. It does not reduce submental fat much or improve texture, which is why the laser protocol is often preferred when fat and texture are part of the picture.

Can the neck and face be done in one session?

Yes. A full face and neck session takes about 45 minutes, and treating them together keeps the lift continuous along the jawline.

How long do results last?

Collagen built after each session is yours; ageing continues, so periodic maintenance is usual. Muscle relaxant for bands is repeated every three to six months.

What about horizontal neck lines?

Those are a texture and folding problem treated with skin boosters, the superficial laser pass and sometimes a small amount of filler; see the neck lines guide.
