Laser Hair Removal Cost in Singapore: What Sets the Price
Medical Director Dr Sin Yong explains what sets the cost of a laser hair removal course, and the questions worth asking before you commit.
WhatsApp to Enquire →Key facts ↓Laser hair removal cost in Singapore depends on the areas treated, how many sessions your hair and skin need, and maintenance. The number of sessions affects the total more than the price of one.
- A course, not a session: in 144 Asian patients, hair reduction rose from about 32 in 100 after one treatment to 55 in 100 after three [1].
- Darker skin can need more sessions: people with skin types IV to VI treated with Nd:YAG needed an average of 8.9 treatments, ranging from 4 to 22 [2].
- Hormonal hair takes longer: in women with PCOS, more than six alexandrite treatments added benefit [3].
- Maintenance is part of the long term: reviews find lasting partial reduction, and no system that removes every hair for good [4].
- Who operates matters: in 175 US laser-injury legal cases, laser hair removal was the commonest procedure, with a growing share involving non-physician operators [6].
How much does laser hair removal cost in Singapore?
It depends on the areas, the number of sessions your hair and skin need, and whether maintenance is likely; the total is set by the course, not one session.
Prices are not published on this page. At IN Eternity Clinic, each area is planned and explained at assessment, before any course begins. At IN Eternity Clinic a consultation fee applies, and it is waived if you go ahead with any medical treatment; the fee is S$120. | Factor | Why it moves the total |
|---|---|
| Area and size | An upper lip takes minutes; full legs or a back take much longer per session. |
| Sessions needed | Set by hair thickness and colour, skin type and hormones. |
| Skin type | Darker skin treated conservatively at 1064 nm can need more sessions. |
| Hair type | Fine hair needs more sessions than coarse, dark hair. |
| Hormones | Hormone-driven areas may need maintenance after the course. |
| Areas combined | Several areas in one visit save trips; each keeps its own interval. |
Why is laser hair removal priced per area?
Because each area takes a different time, carries different hair and needs a different number of sessions at a different interval.
An underarm session takes a few minutes; full legs or a back take much longer. The face often needs more sessions, closer together, because the hair is finer and hormone-driven. Planning per area keeps each one on its own cycle, so you are not paying for visits an area does not need.
| Area | Session length | Sessions commonly needed | Maintenance likely? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upper lip or chin | Short | Often 8 or more | Often |
| Underarms | Short | About 6 to 8 | Sometimes |
| Bikini or Brazilian | Short to medium | About 6 to 8 | Often |
| Half legs | Medium | About 6 to 8 | Sometimes |
| Full legs or back | Long | About 6 to 8 or more | Sometimes |
Why does the number of sessions vary so much?
Because hair thickness, hair colour, skin type and hormones all change how much each session achieves.
Coarse, dark hair on lighter skin usually responds fastest. Fine hair, darker skin treated with conservative energy and hormone-driven hair take longer: people with skin types IV to VI needed an average of 8.9 Nd:YAG treatments, ranging from 4 to 22 [2], and women with PCOS gained from more than six treatments [3]. Dr Sin Yong uses two wavelengths and varied settings to target coarse, medium and fine hair, and changes them as the hair thins, so later sessions still do useful work. See laser hair removal for the face, underarm laser hair removal and leg laser hair removal.
“The session that saves you most is the one you do not need. I would rather tell you at the start how many sessions your hair is likely to take than sell a number and hope.”
Is a cheaper session cheaper overall?
Not necessarily: the total is the price of a session times the sessions you need, plus any maintenance.
Lower energy, or a light source less suited to your skin and hair, can mean more sessions. Trial evidence is strongest for alexandrite and diode lasers [4] and limited for IPL [5]. Settings matter too: in US legal cases over laser injuries, laser hair removal was the commonest procedure involved [6]. When comparing quotes, compare the expected number of sessions for your skin and hair, not only the price of one.
What should a laser hair removal quote include?
The areas, the wavelength planned for your skin, the expected number of sessions and interval for each area, and what happens if your hair stops responding.
- Who assesses your skin and adjusts the settings at each visit.
- Whether a test spot is needed for your skin type.
- The expected sessions per area, and how that number is reviewed.
- Whether maintenance is likely for your areas, and how it would be planned.
- What happens if the remaining hair is too fine or light to respond.
- Aftercare advice, and who to contact if a reaction appears.
What is included at IN Eternity Clinic?
A doctor’s assessment, a plan per area with the wavelength chosen for your skin, and settings reviewed at every session.
Dr Sin Yong checks skin type, hair colour and thickness, medicines and any hormonal pattern, and uses a test spot where the skin is borderline. The plan and its cost are explained before a course begins, and the session count is reviewed as you go rather than fixed in advance. At IN Eternity Clinic a consultation fee applies, and it is waived if you go ahead with any medical treatment; the fee is S$120. See fees.
Is laser hair removal worth the cost?
For many people it is, when the realistic aim, far less hair and much easier upkeep, matches what they want.
Laser gives long-term reduction rather than the loss of every hair, and some areas need maintenance [4]. It is worth less for white, grey, red or very fair hair, which does not respond to any laser; that is said at assessment, before you spend anything on a course. What Dr Sin Yong looks for
- Which areas you want treated, and which matter most to you.
- Your skin type and hair thickness and colour in each area, which set the likely number of sessions.
- Signs of a hormonal cause, which change the plan and maintenance.
- Hair that will not respond to any laser, so you do not pay for sessions that cannot help.
- How your hair is responding at each visit, so the count is reviewed rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions
How much does laser hair removal cost in Singapore?
It depends on the areas, the sessions your hair and skin need, and maintenance. At IN Eternity Clinic the plan is explained at assessment; a S$120 consultation fee applies and is waived if you go ahead with any medical treatment.
How much does underarm laser hair removal cost?
Underarm sessions are short, so the total depends mainly on how many sessions your hair needs, often about six to eight. See underarm laser hair removal for what affects the plan.
Why do laser hair removal prices vary so much?
Areas, the device and wavelength, the energy used, who adjusts the settings and how many sessions are expected all differ. Compare the likely total for your skin and hair, not one session.
Is it cheaper to treat several areas at once?
Combining areas saves trips. Each area still keeps its own interval and session count, so some visits will include more areas than others.
Are maintenance sessions needed after a course?
Sometimes, mostly for hormone-driven areas such as the chin and bikini line. Whether you need maintenance is judged after the course, not sold in advance.
Does MediSave or insurance cover laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal for cosmetic reasons is generally not covered by MediSave or insurance. If hair removal is part of treating a medical condition, check with your insurer.
Is the consultation fee charged if I go ahead?
At IN Eternity Clinic a S$120 consultation fee applies, and it is waived if you go ahead with any medical treatment.
