In short · Doctor’s answer

Acne treatment cost in Singapore depends on how much of the plan is prescription medicine, how much is in-clinic treatment, and how many months of review it needs. Mild acne is usually treated with prescribed creams priced per tube; moderate acne adds a course of oral medicine priced per month; severe or scarring acne may need isotretinoin with blood tests and monthly reviews. In-clinic steps such as extraction, chemical peels and laser are priced per session. IN Eternity Clinic confirms fees at the consultation; the consultation fee is S$120, waived with any medical treatment.

What moves the price

What each part of an acne plan is priced on

How Singapore clinics usually structure acne care.
Part of the planUsually priced onWhat changes the figure
Consultation and reviewPer visitFrequency: monthly during oral treatment, less often on maintenance
Prescription creams (retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics)Per tubeBrand or generic, strength, how many areas
Oral antibiotics or hormonal treatmentPer month of supplyDuration, usually three to six months
IsotretinoinPer month, plus blood testsDose, weight, duration, laboratory fees
Extraction and medical facialsPer sessionWho performs it; whether combined with a peel
Chemical peelsPer session or short courseAcid, depth, number of sessions
Laser for active acne or red marksPer sessionDevice, area, number of sessions
Cortisone injection for a cystPer lesion or visitNumber of lesions

The pattern most people miss is that the medicines are the main treatment and the in-clinic steps support them. A plan built mainly on facials or lasers without prescription care tends to cost more and clear less. Guidelines from dermatology societies rank retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, oral antibiotics and isotretinoin first because of trial evidence.

Before you pay

Questions to ask before paying for an acne package

  • Which part of the plan is prescription medicine, and which part is in-clinic?
  • How many months of review does the plan need, and how are reviews charged?
  • If a laser or facial course is proposed, what does it add to the medicines, and is it needed now or once acne is controlled?
  • What is included in the quoted figure: medicines, reviews, blood tests?
  • Is there pressure to pay for a package today? Singapore Medical Council guidelines discourage sales tactics in aesthetic practice.

At IN Eternity Clinic, Dr Sin Yong examines the skin, grades the acne and gives a written, itemised quote after assessment. Prescription care comes first, with in-clinic steps added where they help. There are no prepaid packages or time-limited deals.

Questions

Acne cost questions

How much does acne treatment cost in Singapore?

It depends on whether the plan is prescription creams and tablets alone, or adds in-clinic steps such as extraction, peels or laser, and on how many months of review it needs. Clinic fees are confirmed at the consultation rather than listed online. The consultation fee at IN Eternity Clinic is S$120, waived with any medical treatment.

Is acne treatment covered by insurance or MediSave in Singapore?

Acne is a medical condition, so consultations and prescriptions may be claimable under some private plans; aesthetic add-ons such as facials and lasers usually are not. MediSave does not cover outpatient acne care in general. Check your policy and ask for an itemised quote.

Can I treat acne at a polyclinic to save money?

Yes. Polyclinics prescribe standard creams and oral medicines at subsidised rates and refer severe cases to the National Skin Centre. A private clinic offers shorter waits, more time per visit and in-clinic options. The medicines themselves are largely the same.

Is isotretinoin expensive?

It is priced per month by dose and weight, with blood tests before and during treatment, and a course usually runs several months. It is reserved for severe, scarring or stubborn acne under medical supervision, where it is the treatment with the strongest evidence for lasting clearance.

Why are there no prices on this page?

Singapore Medical Council guidelines ask doctors not to advertise prices in ways that encourage uptake of treatment, and the right plan is only known after examination. This page explains what moves the figure so that quotes can be compared sensibly.
