Thread Lift Cost in Singapore: What Decides the Price

The number on a quote follows the plan, not the other way round.

Thread lift prices vary widely, and a single figure rarely tells you what you are paying for. Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic on Orchard Road explains the factors behind a quote and the questions worth asking.

The cost of a thread lift in Singapore depends mainly on how many threads your face needs, the type of thread (PDO or the longer-lasting PCL, smooth or barbed), the areas treated, whether it is combined with other treatments, and who performs and follows up the procedure. A quote is only meaningful after the face has been assessed.

Key facts
  • Thread count: the biggest single driver; it is set by the degree of descent, skin thickness and the number of lifting vectors, not by a fixed menu.
  • Thread material: polydioxanone (PDO) is absorbed over roughly six to eight months; polycaprolactone (PCL) lasts longer and usually costs more per thread.
  • Thread design: smooth threads mainly stimulate collagen; barbed or cog threads grip and reposition tissue and are used for lifting.
  • Areas: jowls and jawline, midface, brow and neck are planned separately; treating several adds threads and time.
  • Combination: threads are often paired with energy-based lifting, filler or skin treatments, which changes the overall plan and cost.
  • Who performs it: a doctor assessing, placing threads, managing complications and reviewing you is part of what a quote covers.
  • Registration: threads used in Singapore should be registered medical devices obtained through authorised suppliers.
  • At IN Eternity Clinic: a written quote is given after assessment by Dr Sin Yong; the consultation fee is waived with any medical treatment.

The question

How much does a thread lift cost in Singapore?

People searching for a thread lift price usually want a number. The difficulty is that “thread lift” covers anything from a few smooth threads placed for skin quality to a full lower-face lift with many barbed threads along several vectors. A single price cannot describe both, and a low headline figure often refers to the smallest version of the treatment.

This guide does not list prices. Instead it explains the factors that set the cost of a thread lift, so that you can read any quote, from any clinic, and understand what it includes. At IN Eternity Clinic, a written quote is given after Dr Sin Yong has examined your face and agreed a plan with you, and you are free to take it away and decide later.

Threads

Why does the number and type of thread matter so much?

Number. Each lifting vector needs its own threads, and a heavier jowl or thicker skin needs more support than a light one. A face with early descent along the jaw may need a modest number on each side; a face with descent of both the midface and jowl needs more, placed along different lines. This is decided by examining you sitting upright and at rest, not by a fixed count.

Material. Most threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), an absorbable suture material that the body breaks down over about six to eight months. Polycaprolactone (PCL) threads are absorbed more slowly and keep stimulating collagen for longer; they generally cost more per thread. Reviews of absorbable threads report that the lifting effect is temporary in all cases, so the question is how long, not whether, it lasts.

Design. Smooth (mono) threads are placed in a mesh to improve skin firmness and texture. Barbed or cog threads have small projections that grip the tissue and are what actually reposition a jowl or a cheek. Barbed threads are more costly to make and need more care to place, which is reflected in the cost.

Time and setting. A careful thread lift is not quick. Marking vectors with you sitting upright, numbing each entry point and track, placing and adjusting threads, and checking symmetry before you leave all take doctor time. It is done in a clinical room with sterile preparation, single-use threads and instruments, and a plan for aftercare. These are part of what a quote pays for, even though they do not appear as separate lines.

“I would rather place fewer threads along the right lines than many along the wrong ones. The count follows the face.”
— Dr Sin Yong, Medical Director, IN Eternity Clinic
Plan

What else changes the cost?

FactorWhy it changes the cost
Areas treatedJowls, midface, brow and neck each need their own threads and time
Degree of descentMore descent needs more threads and more vectors
Thread material and designPCL and barbed threads cost more than PDO and smooth threads
Combined treatmentsEnergy lifting, filler or skin treatment add to the plan
Review and follow-upCheck-ups and any adjustment visits are part of a complete plan

Two people with the same complaint can receive very different quotes because their faces need different plans. That is expected. What should be clear in any quote is how many threads, of what type, in which areas, and what follow-up is included.

A nose thread lift is priced on its own logic: the number of threads the bridge and tip can carry, and whether filler is added. See the nose thread lift page and nose thread lift vs nose filler.

Value

Is a cheaper thread lift a false economy?

Sometimes. A thread lift is a procedure, not a product. Part of what you pay for is the assessment that decides whether threads suit you at all, sterile technique, correct placement depth, and someone to see you promptly if a thread can be felt, an entry point becomes red or one side looks different. A low price that leaves out any of these can cost more later.

Questions worth asking anywhere: Who performs the procedure? Which threads are used, and are they registered for use in Singapore? How many threads is the quote for, and what happens if more are needed on the day? What follow-up is included? What happens if a thread extrudes or the result is uneven? The thread lift complications guide explains why these matter.

It is also worth thinking about cost over time rather than per session. PDO threads are absorbed within months, so the lift is temporary. If you would need several top-ups a year to hold a change that an energy-based protocol could maintain for longer, the cheaper option per visit may not be the cheaper option overall.

Alternatives

When is a thread lift not the right spend?

Threads reposition tissue mechanically. They do not remove excess fat, rebuild lost volume, or improve the skin surface, and they are less suited to heavy laxity, which may need a surgical opinion. If your main concern is one of these, money spent on threads alone is unlikely to give the change you want.

At IN Eternity Clinic, face shape guides the alternatives. Leaner or hollow faces are usually better served by the VF Lift – Vertical Facelift on CLASSYS Volnewmer, while fuller lower faces, where some excess needs to be taken away, are usually better served by Time Freeze Laser LCLR®. Threads remain a useful complementary option for a precise vector of lift, and Dr Sin Yong’s thread protocol is described on The Bliss Lift page.

Sometimes the most cost-effective decision is to wait. If descent is very early, good sun protection, skin care and a modest skin-quality treatment may serve you well for a year or two, and threads can be reconsidered later when there is something clear to lift. Dr Sin Yong will tell you if that is his view.

At IN Eternity Clinic

How is a thread lift quote given at IN Eternity Clinic?

Dr Sin Yong examines your face upright, at rest and in movement, notes skin thickness, fat distribution, bone support and any previous filler or threads, and then explains which areas would benefit from threads and which would not. The plan states the number and type of threads, the areas, whether anything is combined, and the follow-up included.

You receive a written quote for that plan. There is no obligation to book on the day. The consultation fee is waived with any medical treatment. General information on how fees are set is on the fees page, and what happens at a first appointment is described on how we consult.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a thread lift cost in Singapore?

There is no single price, because the cost depends on the number and type of threads your face needs, the areas treated, whether other treatments are combined and the follow-up included. A few smooth threads and a full lower-face lift are very different procedures. At IN Eternity Clinic a written quote is given after Dr Sin Yong has assessed your face.

Why do thread lift quotes vary so much between clinics?

Quotes may cover different numbers of threads, different materials such as PDO or PCL, smooth or barbed designs, and different levels of assessment and follow-up. Some headline prices describe the smallest possible treatment. Ask each clinic how many threads, of what type, in which areas, who places them and what aftercare is included.

Are PCL threads worth the higher cost?

PCL threads are absorbed more slowly than PDO threads and keep stimulating collagen for longer, so the effect may be maintained for a longer period. Whether that is worth it depends on your face, how long you want the change to last and what else is planned. Dr Sin Yong explains which material suits your aims at assessment.

Does the price include follow-up?

At IN Eternity Clinic the plan states what follow-up is included, usually a review at around two weeks to check symmetry and healing. If a thread needs attention, for example because it can be felt or an entry point is red, you are seen promptly. Ask any clinic what follow-up and adjustment visits are included before booking.

How long does a thread lift last for the money?

PDO threads are absorbed over about six to eight months, and the lift usually softens within a year or so; PCL threads last somewhat longer. Results vary with skin thickness, the degree of descent and lifestyle. Considering the cost over time, including any top-ups, gives a fairer comparison with other lifting options.

Is the consultation fee charged if I go ahead?

The consultation fee is waived with any medical treatment. At the consultation Dr Sin Yong examines your face, explains whether threads suit you and gives you a written quote for the agreed plan. You do not have to decide on the day.

Can a thread lift be combined with other treatments to save cost?

Combining threads with energy-based lifting or filler is sometimes the most efficient plan, because each treatment does a different job and less of each may be needed. It is not always cheaper overall. Dr Sin Yong explains whether a combination would give you more change for the same outlay, or whether a single approach makes more sense.
