Profhilo Structura is placed in the fat layer of the side of the face rather than spread through the skin. This page explains how it differs from Profhilo. IN Eternity Clinic on Orchard Road offers Profhilo Structura, and Dr Sin Yong advises at assessment whether it fits your face.
WhatsApp to Enquire →Key facts ↓Profhilo Structura is a hybrid hyaluronic acid injectable from IBSA, the maker of Profhilo. Instead of spreading through the skin, it is placed with a cannula into the subcutaneous fat at the side of the face, aiming to support tissue that has thinned and slackened with age. It does not lift like threads or shape like filler.
Facial ageing is not only about skin. The fat beneath it is arranged in compartments, and with age some of these thin, lose their internal structure and support the skin above less well. The lateral cheek compartment, in front of the ear, is one of the areas where this shows as early slackness and a softer jaw outline.
Profhilo Structura uses hybrid cooperative complexes of high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, the same technology as Profhilo, in a formulation designed for this deeper fat layer. Early clinical experience suggests it can improve the look of lateral cheek support, and laboratory work proposes effects on the fat tissue itself. These findings come from small, early studies, and that is how they should be read.

If the main concern is skin quality, such as dullness, dryness and fine crepiness, standard Profhilo is the more natural starting point. Structura is considered when the side of the face has softened and the jawline is starting to blur, but the change is mild to moderate. The existing Profhilo Structura guide covers the background.
Where there is clear loss of bony or deep support, a structural product or a collagen stimulator may be more appropriate. Where laxity is mainly in the skin and soft tissue, energy-based lifting such as VF Lift – Vertical Facelift on Volnewmer, or Thermage, may be discussed. Advanced sagging with excess skin is not treated by injectables.
“Profhilo improves the skin. Structura is aimed at the fat beneath it. If your concern is skin quality, the deeper product is the wrong tool.”
A small amount of local anaesthetic is placed at each entry point, so the main sensation is pressure and a dull pushing feeling as the cannula moves under the skin. Most people find it more comfortable than multiple small injections. Numbing cream may also be used.
The procedure itself usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes per session.

Day 0. Mild swelling at the sides of the face and small marks at the entry points. You can usually return to normal activities the same day.
Days 1–3. Swelling settles; some tenderness on pressure and occasional bruising at the entry points. Avoid saunas, intense exercise and facial massage.
Week 1. The early fullness from the gel and fluid fades. The face should look like you, not heavier.
Weeks 2–4. Change, if any, develops gradually. Published protocols commonly use a second session around one month after the first.
Review. Photographs in standard positions are compared at review to decide whether a further session is useful.
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and short-lived. Lumps are uncommon because the product spreads within the fat layer, and hyaluronic acid can be broken down with hyaluronidase if needed. Infection and vascular events are rare with cannula technique but remain possible with any injectable, which is why anatomy, sterile preparation and the doctor’s experience matter.
Any product used should be registered in Singapore; the HSA registration guide explains how to check. It is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active skin infection, or to people allergic to its components.
Both use stabilised high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. Profhilo is placed in the skin at set points and spreads to improve hydration and firmness. Structura is placed deeper, in the fat of the lateral face, to support tissue that has thinned and softened with age.
Generally adults with mild to moderate softening at the sides of the face and early blurring of the jawline, who want a subtle change. It is not suited to advanced sagging with excess skin, or to people whose main concern is skin texture. Suitability is decided in person.
Published protocols commonly use two sessions about one month apart. The number for you is decided at assessment and reviewed after the first session, since response varies with age, tissue quality and lifestyle. Any further session or maintenance is planned only if the review shows it would help.
It is made of hyaluronic acid, so it can be broken down with hyaluronidase, a prescription medicine, if there is a problem such as an unwanted lump. This is one reason it is considered a more adjustable option than collagen stimulators, but it is still placed with care in measured amounts.
Most people return to normal activities the same day. Swelling at the sides of the face usually settles within a few days, and bruising at the entry points, if it happens, fades over a week or so. Avoid saunas and intense exercise for a day or two, and plan around important events.
Fees depend on the number of syringes, the number of sessions and whether it is combined with other treatments such as energy-based lifting. Whether it is the right choice for your face is decided first, because a different treatment may suit better. Fees are then explained clearly at consultation.
