Volume restored.
Naturally.
Dr. Sin Yong takes a restrained, anatomy-first approach to volume restoration — treating only what is genuinely needed, using the minimum effective amount, and always prioritising natural facial proportions over visible change.
Volume restoration with
restraint and precision
Dermal fillers are among the most overused tools in aesthetic medicine. Excessive or incorrectly placed filler creates the puffed, unnatural appearance known as pillow face — one of the most common concerns Dr. Sin Yong is asked to correct.
His approach to volume restoration is deeply conservative. Rather than adding volume to compensate for structural loss, he first assesses whether lifting — using laser or energy-based devices — can restore the appearance of volume without adding substance. When fillers are indicated, they are placed with surgical precision in small quantities to restore natural facial proportions, not to inflate.
"The goal is never to look filled. It's to look like yourself — five or ten years ago."
Before recommending any filler, Dr. Sin Yong assesses whether the concern is truly a volume deficit — or whether skin laxity, structural descent, or bone resorption is the primary cause. The right diagnosis changes the right treatment.
Dr. Sin Yong is a designated trainer for Restylane and Stylage — two of the most widely used HA filler brands internationally. This means his injection technique is trained to the highest clinical standard.
Dr. Sin Yong regularly treats patients who have developed unnatural facial fullness from prior filler treatments elsewhere — a complex and delicate correction requiring hyaluronidase dissolution and strategic recontouring.
How volume restoration works
Different products and techniques are suited to different areas and types of volume loss — Dr. Sin Yong selects and layers appropriately for each patient's anatomy.
HA fillers are injected into specific facial planes to restore volume, lift tissue, or redefine contours. The rheological properties of the filler (G-prime, cohesivity, viscosity) determine where it is best placed — a thick, high-G-prime filler for deep structural support; a softer, low-viscosity product for superficial areas like lips or tear troughs. Placement depth, product selection, and quantity are all tailored individually.
Bio-stimulating injectables (Profhilo, Sculptra, Radiesse) do not add volume directly — they stimulate the body's own collagen production within the treated tissue. Profhilo's ultra-high HA concentration spreads through the dermis to hydrate and firm from within. Sculptra (PLLA) induces a gradual volumising effect over months as new collagen is formed. These are suited to patients with generalised skin quality concerns, fine laxity, or early volume loss where structural fillers are not yet indicated.
When prior HA filler has been over-placed, misplaced, or has migrated — hyaluronidase enzyme is injected to dissolve it. The correction process requires careful staging: dissolving in zones, allowing tissue to settle, then reassessing before any recontouring. Dr. Sin Yong takes a conservative, multi-stage approach to pillow face correction — prioritising structural normalisation over speed.
Volume treatments at IN Eternity
Each treatment is personalised to your facial anatomy, degree of volume loss, and whether prior filler correction is needed first.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Precision HA filler placement for temples, cheekbones, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline, and non-surgical nose reshaping. Dr. Sin Yong uses Restylane and Stylage — brands for which he is a certified trainer — with product selection matched to area, tissue plane, and desired effect. Small quantities placed accurately; never a formula approach.
Profhilo Facial Remodelling
Ultra-high concentration stabilised HA injected at five points per side using the BAP technique — spreading through the dermis to deeply hydrate, firm, and remodel skin from within. Produces an overall improvement in skin quality, elasticity and luminosity rather than adding defined volume. Two sessions spaced one month apart form the primary course.
Pillow Face Correction
For patients with prior filler who have developed excessive facial fullness, loss of natural contour, asymmetry, or filler migration. Dr. Sin Yong uses staged hyaluronidase dissolution to carefully remove displaced or over-placed HA filler — followed by a recovery and assessment period before any recontouring. A specialist area requiring clinical experience and patience.
Lip & Perioral Restoration
Natural lip enhancement and perioral rejuvenation using soft HA fillers — restoring lost lip volume, redefining the vermillion border, softening perioral lines, and correcting lip proportion asymmetry. Dr. Sin Yong's approach preserves natural lip movement and avoids the overfilled, rigid appearance. Restylane Kysse and similar soft-rheology products are preferred for this area.
Tear Trough & Temple Restoration
The tear trough (under-eye hollow) and temples are two of the earliest areas to show age-related volume loss. Tear trough filler requires precise sub-orbicularis placement to avoid the Tyndall effect (bluish discolouration from superficial placement). Temple volume restoration with soft HA filler restores the youthful oval facial frame that hollowing temples distort.
Sculptra & Radiesse
Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) bio-stimulators for patients with generalised facial volume loss who want gradual, natural-looking restoration. Both stimulate the body's own collagen over a 3–6 month period, with results lasting 18–24 months. Suited to patients who want volume improvement without the immediacy or definition of HA fillers.
Who is suitable?
You may benefit from volume restoration if you have:
- Hollow temples giving a gaunt or aged appearance
- Under-eye hollowing or tear trough deformity
- Flattening of the mid-face or cheekbone area
- Deepening nasolabial folds due to volume loss (not just skin laxity)
- Lip thinning or loss of lip definition
- Chin recession or weak jawline definition
- Generalised skin dehydration, dullness or early laxity (Profhilo)
- Prior filler with unnatural or excessive results requiring correction
A consultation is needed if you have:
- Active skin infection or open wounds in the treatment area
- Known allergy to HA or any filler component
- Autoimmune conditions affecting healing
- History of keloid scarring at injection sites
- Blood-thinning medications — bruising risk to discuss
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
At consultation, Dr. Sin Yong will first assess whether your concern is genuinely best addressed with filler — or whether a laser lifting or energy-based treatment would produce a more natural and longer-lasting result. He will never recommend filler simply because a patient requests it.
Dr. Sin Yong is explicitly sceptical of over-injection — he treats pillow face correction regularly and sees the consequences of excessive volume addition. His approach is to use the minimum effective amount of filler in the correct anatomical plane, always after first assessing whether a non-injectable approach (laser, RF, HIFU) might achieve a better result. He is a certified Restylane and Stylage Trainer, meaning his technique is validated at the highest clinical level.
HA filler longevity varies by area and product. Structural areas (cheeks, chin, jawline) typically last 12–18 months. Softer areas like lips last 6–12 months. Tear trough filler can persist longer due to limited movement in that area. Bio-stimulators (Profhilo, Sculptra) produce collagen that lasts 18–24 months. Individual metabolism, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors all influence longevity.
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved at any time using hyaluronidase enzyme. Results from dissolving appear within 24–48 hours. Non-HA fillers (Sculptra, Radiesse) cannot be dissolved — this is one reason Dr. Sin Yong prefers to start with HA products in most cases, especially for new patients.
Yes. Pillow face correction is one of Dr. Sin Yong's areas of expertise. The process involves careful, staged hyaluronidase dissolution — not a single aggressive session — followed by a settling period before any recontouring. The exact approach depends on the products used, placement depth, and degree of migration. A consultation with photos of your pre-filler appearance is helpful.
Most patients experience mild swelling and possible bruising for 3–5 days, particularly in areas with more vascularity such as the lips and tear troughs. Cheek and chin filler tends to have minimal visible recovery. Ice application and avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol before treatment reduces bruising risk. Results are visible immediately, with final settling over 2 weeks.
The consultation fee is $120, waived in full when you proceed with any treatment on the same visit. Dr. Sin Yong will assess your facial anatomy, review any prior treatments, and give an honest recommendation — which may not always be filler.
